Migration Guide: Google Sites → GoDaddy
1. What Has Already Been Migrated
All content from the Google Site has been rebuilt on GoDaddy. The following pages are complete:
- Homepage (Welcome home.)
- About page (verbatim prose + amenities grid)
- HVAC page + 5 sub-pages (FAQ, Thermostat, Schedule, Resident Guide, Other Info)
- Transportation page (Shuttle, M82, Ride On 23, Metro Rail trackers)
- Around Friendship Heights (external links)
- GEICO & Friendship Heights Development page
- Committees & Clubs index + 10 sub-pages (Communications, Finance, Fitness, Library, Social, Book Club, Landscape, Pool, Safety & Upkeep, Technology & Environment)
2. What Is Still Hosted Elsewhere (and Why That's OK)
Lovable-hosted apps (iframes)
These are separate apps embedded inside the GoDaddy site via iframes. They live on Lovable's servers and are unaffected by the DNS cutover.

Chatbase chatbot
Hosted at chatbase.co. This is a managed AI service and cannot be directly migrated to GoDaddy. It will continue to work as long as the Chatbase account is active.
Important: The DNS cutover does NOT affect Lovable or Chatbase. Those URLs remain live independently.
3. Can the Lovable / Chatbase Apps Be Moved to GoDaddy?
| What | Moveable? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Lovable transportation trackers | Yes, but complex | Would need to export/rebuild code and re-host on GoDaddy |
| Lovable Dusty HVAC bot | Yes, but complex | Same as above |
| Chatbase chatbot | No | Managed AI service — would need a different AI chatbot solution to replace |
4. How to Share the Site for Review (Before DNS Cutover)
Option A — Preview URL (available right now, no publishing needed)
Send this link to reviewers. They can click through the full site immediately:
https://omu4h6prpe.preview.c36.airoapp.ai
Option B — Publish to a GoDaddy URL (cleaner link)
Click the Publish button in the top-right corner of the GoDaddy builder. The site gets a stable published URL. This does not affect the current Google Site or DNS at all.
5. The DNS Cutover (The Final Switch)
When reviewers are satisfied, the final step is pointing 4620condo.com from Google Sites to GoDaddy. This is done in GoDaddy's domain settings and typically takes a few minutes to a few hours to propagate.
- 1In the GoDaddy builder, click Publish (if not already published).
- 2Go to the Domain settings in the builder and attach 4620condo.com.
- 3GoDaddy will update the DNS records automatically (if the domain is registered with GoDaddy).
- 4Wait for DNS propagation (usually under 1 hour for GoDaddy-registered domains).
- 5Verify 4620condo.com loads the new GoDaddy site.
- 6The Google Site remains accessible at its sites.google.com URL but is no longer the primary site.
Recommendation: Do the DNS cutover on a weekday morning when you can monitor it. The old Google Site stays live until DNS fully propagates, so there is no downtime.
